Student Career Day
In an effort to introduce high school, vocational and college automotive students to the aftermarket hot rod industry, ISCA has developed the Student Career Day program.
Student Career Day takes place at Autorama, World of Wheels, and other ISCA-sanctioned events. Students participating in the program are bussed to the venue Friday morning, before the show is open to the general public. As students arrive, they receive goodie bags, food coupons, and identification wristbands that allow them free access to the show for the entire weekend.
The students will attend a brief welcome reception, which includes talks by key industry speakers, including renowned car builders, industry representatives, and sponsors. After the reception, students are allowed to walk through the show to get an up-close look at the vehicles and have an opportunity to speak with car owners and our sponsors’ Mac Tools, Baker College, Clean Tools (The Absorber), Mequiars, Summit Racing Equipment, UTI, Ohio Technical College and State Farm Insurance.
The goals for Student Career Day are as follows:
- - Expose students to opportunities in the specialty automotive aftermarket industry that SEMA calls a $34 billion industry
- - Allow students to view the talents of the participants who have handcrafted many of the vehicles participating in World of Wheels and Autorama events.
- - Provide a forum for students to view firsthand many of North America’s finest show vehicles, many of which have been featured in magazines and television programs.
- - Provide an opportunity for students to visit with many of the car owners and builders who have painstakingly completed their projects.
